Assigned & Elective Activities

All campers participate in a Red Cross Instructional Swim program as well as Athletics, Nature, Jewish Culture, Shira (singing), and Rikud (Israeli Dancing) classes. Campers in grades 3-8 participate in two Arts and Crafts periods per week. The youngest campers (those entering grades 3-6) are assigned two Instructional Tennis periods each week and everyone in camp enjoys a “Free” Swim during the week as well. All campers participate in a stimulating Jewish Culture program twice each week. Campers meet outdoors for interactive workshops that center around an annual Jewish theme. Workshops are age appropriate, hands on, and focus on Jewish learning and personal growth.

Campers also choose activities in their specific areas of interest. In this way, every child is afforded the opportunity to develop skills in activities that are new to them or to hone skills in activities that they are familiar with and enjoy. Older campers have the opportunity to select several double-period electives to further develop their interests. Campers find many vehicles of self-expression at Camp Pembroke.
